Doctors/nurses: Do you get angry at obese patients because they are obese?!

Question: Doctors/nurses: Do you get angry at obese patients because they are obese?
Obviously you cannot be rude to them because of their weight problem, but I've always wondered. If I was a doctor or nurse I would get really irritated at obese patients because they most likely caused their health issues themselves. Does anyone feel this way?

Answers:

Most medical professionals get irritated with patients who are non-compliant and unwilling to take responsibility for their health, regardless of weight. Some people are just genetically predisposed to store more fat on their bodies, but maintain a relatively healthy lifestyle, and just have health issues - I don't know any doctor who would be "angry" at a patient like that. However, patients who have chronic issues that could get better with better nutrition and moderate exercise and just expect the doctor to have a pill to make all their problems go away get irritating. Being well takes work - there's no pill that can do what a healthy lifestyle can.

so what about cancer patients, diabetics that are non compliant but a normal weight what about compassion as a healthcare provider what about people with stds but a normal weight

No, of course not.
You may as well get annoyed with someone injured crossing the road because they weren't careful enough.

If you start reading medical blogs, you'll find the answer is yes, definitely.

No. You're mean.
