How long do i need to keep my knee covered with a dressing for after having a fe!

How long do i need to keep my knee covered with a dressing for after having a few sergical stitches in it?

i had an rta on sat and had a few stitches in my knee, i can't remember how long i needed to keep the stitches covered for with dressings.I'm back at the hospital on thursday for them to check my knee so i don't want to go in there with it covered in a dressing if i don,t need it to be.Please help lol.Thanks angie x

all the while you have got stitches in please keep it covered until the hospital has seen it on thursday they will then take a look at it and might take the stitches out for you there and then and just put a light dressing on it afterwards to be left on for a few more days (you didnt say how many stitches you recieved )after a few days just take dressing of and let the air get to it to dry out .Deborah been a nurse for years now .
