There are lawyers who will give you a free consultation in personal injury cases to see if there is grounds to sue. I recommend seeing one. You will need to return to work, however, or risk being fired. If you belong to a work union you could check with your union rep to see if they could fire you for this. They are the authority. Without a union I think returning to work is best. I'm sure the Syringomelia was present from birth as that is the only time a person gets this. The head and neck pain would not be from this. You must have strained some of the muscles in your neck which is causing the pain. When a person loses consciousness after a fall there was almost a sure chance of a concussion that will cause bad headaches for a while. Take tylenol or ibuprofen until it improves. Be sure you tell the lawyer you weren't wearing your slip resistant shoes. This could make you just as negligent as your coworker and you wouldn't want that to come out in court without your lawyers knowledge. You would likely lose the case and may have to pay the lawyer for their time.
