Question: Does it hurt to get your ears pierced?

Ok here's the deal,I have my ears pierced but the holes in the front are tiny and the holes in the back are basically closed.I got them done when I was a baby but took them out when I got a little older and I never put them back in.I want to put earrings in but I don't think I can do it,people said I could but I would have to break skin but people told me it doesn't hurt.And then I heard I can get them re-pierced with either a gun or a needle.I want to do it but Im terrified of needles,pain and anything that has to do with those categories,when the holes were a little open,I asked people to put my earrings in for me but I would never let them do it.So what Im wondering is should I get them done with a needle or a gun,and whatever you pick please tell me,does it hurt,what should I do to relax and tell me the process of it,how they pierce them and how they do it,thank you:)

I had my ears pierced with a gun 20 years ago and it didnt hurt, just like pinch but only for a second and not painful, i coild just feel it. Those holes closed later on so last year i had them done again. The first didnt hurt at all, only the same tiny pinch for a second. The other ear DID hurt. The guy said it was because wjen i had them done before i probably had am infection amd the pis had dried and stayed as a lump in my ear and when he shot through tha it hurt. Squeeze your thumb and finger on your lobe and kind of roll them around. If you cant feel anything hard you should be pain free.

get them pierced with a needle. It is much more sanitary than a gun. A gun can not be sterilized, and when using a gun it is forcing a blunt earring into the ear, which can cause damage. It does not hurt to get your ears pierced, I have had mine done with both a gun and needle, and found the needle is better. The process is very simple with a needle. You sit down. The piercer will mark the sports on your ear, than he will pierce it. It is very fast, and painless.

I had the same problem and ended up just getting the re-pierced and it hurts a little, not bad at all though. I would not suggest pushing an earring through to break skin that will hurt a lot. Bring a friend with you and you should be fine. It's really easy.

I have heard that guns hurt more, I used needles for my ears and I was fine, never had the gun before, it all has to do with your pain threshold...

Go to your local piercing shop and have them re-pierced. I would NOT recommend doing it at home, as it has a higher chance of getting infected.

It may hurt a bit, but in my opinion, no more than waxing! :)

you can go to claires or even walmart to get your ears pierced. they use a piercing gun, which is super fast and you dont feel anything. at most it will sting a bit later. but since yours are already half pierced, it shouldnt be any problem and you probably wont feel it at all. im the same way, i hate getting stuck by things (SHOTS! lol) but i never wear earrings and my holes tend to close up and i usually do it myself with an earring or a needle or pin. its really not bad at all, but if you dont want to do it yourself go somewhere. if you just dont think about it and consider it no big deal, you should be relaxed.
