What can you do for a black eye?!

Question:

What can you do for a black eye?

I fell and hit the left side of my face in the parking lot and now I have a black eye

Answers:

Put a cold compress on it as soon as possible. Leave it there for no longer than 15 minutes. After you've given your eye at least 15 minutes to "warm up," you can re-apply the ice for another 15 minutes or less. Keep this cycle up every once in a while for a day or two to reduce the swelling.

Do NOT put meat on your eye. You could get bacteria in your eye and make things a lot worse. A bag of frozen peas works very well. Again, don't leave it on for longer than 15 minutes.

Drink lots of water and don't take aspirin because it doesn't let your blood clot and move away from your eye (Tylenol is okay, though).

There's really not much you can do to take the bruise away. Just be patient and wait it out.

Good luck!
