Accessory navicular surgery ! HELPP !!?!


Question: Accessory navicular surgery ! HELPP !!?
Okayy well today i was told that i have accessory navicular. Which means i have an extra bone in my foot. I might need surgery to remove it. Has anyone had this done ? or have and info about it ? because im reallyy scared ive never had surgery. Also whats the after treatment of the surgery ? like do you get a cast ? or boot ? .... PLEASE HELP :(

im actually having this surgery done on monday. having an extra bone there is not a bad thing though. if it starts to cause pain they will most likely make you wear orthotics in your shoes. If no improvement they put you in a boot or a cast, and cortisone injections. you take anti inflammatory medicine and ice it all the time and keep it elevated. the key is resting it so it can heal. surgery is the last resort and usually they will not do it until all other treatments failed.
my friend had this surgery 3 months ago and is already in sports and is doing great. as for the surgery they said it only takes like 40 minuets. she was in a splint for 10 days a cast for 3 weeks then in a boot for 3 weeks. when she got in the boot she could start walking. no physical therapy.
