Question: Spinal stenosis questions ?
Hi all! I've been diagnosed with spinal stenosis about a year ago and I obviously had it before my doc diagnosed me. I had pain in my lower back and burning, weakness and numbness in my legs back In high school. I've done physical therapy been prescribed muscle relaxers, and lyrica. And been to a cyropactor all with no results. My pain level is a bit worse than it was a year ago. Now my doc has dropped me and I'm on the search for a new one which I'll have in a week or two do to the help of my insurance. My old doc is going to send over my records. But now when I do get a new doc will I have to go through whole thing again? And should I ask for pain meds. I hurt when I walk sit stand sleep or do whatever. I don't even remember what it's like to be pain free.it's been that long. It is effecting my work performance and my social life. And the thing is I just turned 24 in December. Also my old doc told me that spinal stenosis is usually a prob older people have.

If you can find the right doc they can go over your records and you might not have to start over. But they usually start you out on a low dose pain med. Something else you might ask your doctor about is degenerative disk disease. when you find a young person with stenosis of the spine it usually goes the disk disease. my husband was diagnosed 4 years ago and has been dropped by three docs because there is nothing they can do about execpt try to control the pain.
