Do all wasps and hornets leave a stinger in you?!

Question:

Do all wasps and hornets leave a stinger in you?

I was stung by a wasp about an hour ago. I can't seem to find a stinger in me though. I thought they all left one.

Answers:

I don't believe wasps and hornets actually leave a stinger in you when they sting you, they just inject venom. You're thinking of honeybees, who when they sting you leave part of their stinger and also their lower body in you and then die because of it. Most kinds of wasps and hornets don't die after they sting you and may even sting you a second and third time, so there would be no reason to be surprised if you don't find a stinger in you. One of the many reasons I hate hornets and wasps much more than bees.
