My dad got a foot infection from an open wound. His foot is swollen and he can b!

Question:

My dad got a foot infection from an open wound. His foot is swollen and he can barely walk.?

He also has a fever. He went to the doctor today and they suscribed some antibiotics, painkillers, and gave him a tetanus shot. They also took an x-ray and found that he didn't have a fracture. Now it's more than 12 hours later and his foot doesn't seem any better. What could he have and is it serious? Could it lead to him getting surgery?

Answers:

it can take more than a day for antibiotics to kick in, but if you think they arent working:
get epsom salt!

throw a splash of it into a bucket of hot water, and soak the foot several times a day.

you can probably get it at walgreens or something.
epsom salt helps kill infection. i have an infection on my toe and it is helping me greatly. still doctor is the best thing. try epsom salt for two days and if he sees no improvement then go to another doctor.

good luck!
