Tounge ulcers?!

Question:

Tounge ulcers?

my 10 year old son often gets little white bumps (ulcers) on and around the edges of his tounge. They are painful to him when he eats.
Anyone knows what causes these, and what I can do to help him get rid of them?

My fiance's mom calls them "lie bumps" which is just a funny family thing --- but my son swears he's not lying about anything, haha.

Answers:

Good grief he is not lying-he probably has cancor sores. Warm salt water (1 tsp to 1/4 cup water). He swishes in mouth and spits out. Stress adds significantly to this condition.
