sharp stabbing pains in my ankle?!

Question: Sharp stabbing pains in my ankle?
I broke my right ankle 7 years ago and had to have a pin and 7 screws put in, and about 4 years ago i had to have them removed cuz i couldnt walk or climb stairs, well recently ive been experiencing some very painful stabbing pains under my ball joint in my ankle which radiates up my leg. I can barely walk once again and the swelling is very bad. my toes are even starting to swell , ive tried ankle braces and nothing is helping. Im a waitress so im on my feet constantly. does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be,..

You know I got the same thing, except the pins and screws are still in there. I think it's because of damage that was done to the area from the metal grinding on the joint. Maybe in your case it started doing it and because it as already damaged a bit it's continuing to get damaged. I know everyone is going to tell you this, but i think it is the best thing to do, before you have a bigger problem on your hands- do to the doctor and find out what the heck it is. Hopefully you'll just need a couple physical therapy sessions to learn some excersizes that will strengthen the ligaments around there and protect the joints from the impact and hurt less or none at all.

i'm rooting for you! I know the pain...all my leg joints are screwy like that these days

Calcium deposits could be the source. They form after injuries because the body sends more support to help the injury. they are spottable by x-ray, have it checked out.
