I keep getting sharp pains in my stomach on the left hand side.my stomach has also swollen out.?

i also have random little twingies and flutters in my side when i have the pain.this pain does go and come back on different occasions what could it be?

I also struggle with this -- and it is constipation. If it happens alot, it could be irritable bowel syndrome. Also, I found one of my problems was a hernia which had to be surgically repaired. That was when my pain was the worst, because the feces was in the loop of bowel that had fallen through the abdominal wall and couldn't pass back into the abdominal cavity to continue the evacuation process. If laxatives don't work in a day, call your doctor.
