URGENT: Help my contact is lost?!

Question:

URGENT: Help my contact is lost?

Help!!! I lost my contact in the back of my eye. I've been dropping solution in my eye for about thirty minutes now. How do i get it out? It just keeps moving backward. The pain is freaking unbearable. Does anyone know what to do?

Answers:

You need someone to HELP take it out. You can't do this yourself, because as you try to look in the mirror, your eye shifts, losing sight of the contact.

But it really isn't that far back. The eye is held in place by a ring of muscles and tissue connected around the whole circle of it. The contact is up there abutting that connection. What you shouldn't do is to continue trying to get it out yourself.

WHEN YOU HAVE HELP, the other person will need to keep the eyelid peeled well away from the eye, while you look down as far as you can (pretend you're looking at your knees, while standing). Then when they see the contact (it will appear as a pale blue circle) they can ease it down onto the front of the eye using a Qtip. All they really need to do is to get it to the front of the eye, where you can take over by either taking it out, or replacing it over your cornea.

AND, just be thankful that you lost this in your eye. If you had lost it in your bed, or down your sink, replacement cost would have been a b*tch!
