I have a stinging, uncomfortable pain in my vagina?!

Question: I have a stinging, uncomfortable pain in my vagina?

It's really random. It happens when I get up, or lay down, or move around. It doesn't sting/hurt when i go pee, and it does not itch. I kind of want to say it's like a throbbing stinging feeling. Hard to explain. but it's preventing me from sleep. :|
What can/could this be? Please help!

My girlfriend had the same problem. She went the doctors and they gave her some cream to put on it. Also sex hurt. But you might just want to go doctors to be safe
