The hospital should be telling you this, I would go and ask as many questions as possible!!
Also if he/she has just fallen, a fall generally doesn't sustain such injures that require 13 days observation.
Personally I'd be very suspicious and think about getting the police involved.
Get help - maybe they think you are abusing your child. But the best people to ask are those making the deicion - 13 days in an unreasonable amnount of time for a child to be kept in.
Might wonder if he has been assaulted and will make enquires whilst detaining him in hospital
