Pain in left arm for 3 months?!

Question: Pain in left arm for 3 months?
Pain in left arm for 3 months?

Last year near the end of October my dad got uncapped internet which was great this meant that I could play WoW WTLK amlost 24/7. Near the of November I started to play WoW everyday for 13 hours a day until my left arm began to feel sore anyway ignoring the pain I played on. On the 16th of December it really began to bother me.

Helping my dad to load the fridge on the pick-up really put a strain on my arm. Holding small things for a long time e.g. a plate, coffee mug and a beer can also puts strain on my arm.

I've been having this pain for 3 months now. I've already seen the local Dr. all he gave me was pills to relax my muscles.

I think it's of not listening my body.I'm scared that I might have permanently damaged my left arm

I'm 22 years old

(Note my left is not my primary arm)

Granted I don't have a PHD in medicine but if being in a certain position is making your arm sore, your arn is just reacting to not being used enough & being left in the same position for to long. You don't have to stop playing WOW but definitely put limits on how much time you spend on it.

Also if lack of use is making it hurt, exercise it. Get yourself a dumbbells & work out. I'm not saying you have to be a bodybuilder or anything like that, just enough to keep it healthy.

These might be the possible causes:

You might be feeling some numbness as well, this might be caused by "extreme" or "prolonged" activities that make use of certain parts of your body. Say, a pianist who plays piano for 16 hours a day is very prone to have the carpal-tunnel syndrome (Which worsening can be prevented by total rest)

There are several things you should do:
1. Everyday you can put warm towel on the affected area, do it for like a week and see if there's an improvement.

2. You can visit a physical therapist who can give you a correct massage or therapy since they'd have to "re-align" some of the parts that may have been overused. (realign is not a medical term, but you see, over-working any area of your body can lead to "growth" just like muscles, and the skin.)

3. Don't sleep on the affected side.

4. Do some stretching exercises everyday, word of caution: WHEN THERE'S PAIN, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG. Stretching should feel good and it should relieve some discomforts.

5. If like another month pass, then have it X-ray'd or if you have the budget, some athletes would go to MRI.
