Why am I craving sand..I am actually dipping my finger in sand and putting it in!

Why am I craving sand..I am actually dipping my finger in sand and putting it in my mouth!!?
I must be nuts right?? I just have this craving sometimes..that and chewing ice..I eat so much ice I have destroyed some of my teeth in the back of my mouth..What the hell is wrong with me??
