What treatments do doctors generally use for migraines? I started getting them w!

Question:

What treatments do doctors generally use for migraines? I started getting them while pregnant, but had baby...

They first prescribed midrin, but it made me very sick so, I guess I am allergic. After they put me on tylenol 3 which worked very well. It didn't make them go away completely, but helped with the pain greatly. Would they prescribe this again or try something else? What else could the prescribe? Thanks!

Answers:

I have severe migraines and have had many different treatments. Now, I use the Imitrex self-injector when I get an attack, and take a muscle relaxer every night to help me sleep and prevent migraines. I highly recommend Imitrex, as it is not a pain pill and if it works, you can just get on with your day.
