Why suffer so long? I just had carpal tunnel (wrist) and cubital tunnel (elbow) surgery two weeks ago and here I am typing to you. I experienced the same exact symptoms as you and was surprised when they told me that I would need both surgeries in the same day. I had tingling in my fingers as they would fall asleep all night long with pain shooting up to my elbow, and during the day I couldn't even hold a phone up to my ear. I put it off for years. So happy that I did the surgery. No pain whatsoever. I took an Advil (200 mg) just once that night of my surgery just so I could sleep. They will do an EMG to confirm the nerve damage etc. It was an uncomfortable test but not horrible. The surgery was easier. The soft cast stayed on for one week only. I promise that you'll be fine. Good luck!

I suffered from problems with carpal tunnel syndrome some years ago when I was a typist - ouch!

I, too, found the pain to be worse at night, probably because I have a tendency to sleep with my arms curled up against my chest with the wrists flexed. I solved the problem by buying a simple velcro wrist splint and wearing it while I slept. The splint holds your wrist in a natural position of comfort and keeps you from holding it in a "bad" position while you sleep.

I've no idea if a doctor would recommend wearing a splint while you sleep, but it did work for me!

I had carpal tunnel in both wrists. I slept in splints every night. They helped some, but I still woke up during the night with pain and numbness. It probably just depends on how bad it is. But it won't hurt to try the splints.

Rest and leave the computer alone which is the major cause of your CTS.
You need to assess your workstation as the symptons will only get better if you stop the cause.
Try rubbing some deep heat on and put on a support bandage for now.
