Back Posture problems?!

Question: Back Posture problems?
I need to help straighten up my back because I tend to slouch a lot. And I forget to sit up straight a lot or when I do, i forget after a few minnets and go back to slouching. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Like ways to remember to sit up straight, or how to make my back poster better? Or stretches? Is there anything little i can do during class or between classes that might also help?
Thanks

The key thing is achieving a healthy "lordosis" (arc) in your spine when sitting. To exaggerate for the purpose of illustration, imagine sitting comfortably erect but with a good hollow in your back between your head and your buttocks.

You can achieve this more easily if you have a wedge in the back of your chair. One of the best and cheapest examples of this health aid is the "Mckenzie Roll" and variants of it. You can also buy other more expensive aids that fit into your chair - some that are very good and some that are not. Do you research on reviews of any product before you purchase.

You can even do a home made one with a rolled up towel. It is also a good idea to do some form of exercises each day, laying on your back with a supporting wedge/roll underneath the hollow of your back so as to be kind to your back.

There are such things as orthopaedic chairs that are designed to make you sit with a health posture - tailor made for you but these are very expensive.

I have included 2 website links for you.

Hello,

Working long hours in the computer can cause a person to slouch. Most body pains comes from a poor posture. A slouch position can cause neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain and muscle spasms. Yoga poses and meditation helps correct your posture and strengthen your muscle ans ligaments.

Watching a free video tutorials can motivate you more to stand and sit up properly. My brother wears his posture brace specially when working at the office to maintain his good posture. it corrects a poor posture and alleviates back pains.
