Knee makes popping sound?!

Question: Knee makes popping sound?
My question is I was kneeling (on my left knee) then it popped and I felt a sharp pain for like 1 second, It hasn't hurt since, its stable, bendable and not swollen, but now ever once in a while it will make a popping sound when I bend it, just like my other knee, did I reall hurt it? I know its not a ACL tear, (cause I know what that feels like) but what could have happened, I really don't want to go back to soccer and hurt another knee when it could be a simple fix now.

When a joint pops or cracks a couple of things could be causing this. The first is when you bend the joint a tendon may move out of place and then when you stand up the cracking you hear is the tendon returning to it's usual space. Also the joints all contain synovial fluid. This fluid lubricates the joints but it also contains oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. When you stretch the joint by bending you are also stretching the synovial capsule and the gases are rapidly released as bubbles in the joint and you will hear them pop or crack when you stand back up. Arthritis can also cause popping and cracking in joints. It's not serious unless you have pain, swelling, or a deformity at the joint.

No you did not:) this is just lactic acid being released from yor joint. It's just like popping your fingers or neck, and won't have any bad effects.
