My finger pops when I straighten it?!

Question:

My finger pops when I straighten it?

I have a job holding a screw gun for 8 hours. Now when I make a fist all my fingers are ok except my ring finger. I literally have to staighten it and it pops at the joint when I do. It hurts so bad!! What is wrong? I am 32, could it be arthritis?

Answers:

It's called trigger finger. It's a genuine medical condition, but no, it is not arthritis. It's a problem with the tendon, and can usually be fixed with medication. In your case, it's most likely work related and covered under worker's comp. See your doctor.
