Weird muscle spasm beneath my left ribs?!

Question: Weird muscle spasm beneath my left ribs?
Okay this is really weird, I have this muscle spasm that pulses almost like a heartbeat (though not quite as rythmic) under my left ribcage. It's near the center and where I ribcage meets the top of my abs.

I'm 17 years old and in decent shape 5'8" 124lbs and I though it might have been a hernia but I'm told that those hurt alot. This doesn't hurt it's just extremley annoying and nothing I can do will make it stop.

I don't think it has to do with being out of shape or anything because I usually exercise a couple days a week, but I haven't ran or done much exercising the last few days. I twisted my ankle and didn't want to aggravate it (and laziness) so I didn't exercise.

Can anyone explain this? I don't know what it is at all.

Answers:

It happens when your muscles are responding to a build-up of lactic acid. It causes a twitching sensation, almost feels like someone is tapping on you. It's completely normal.

i get that too!!! but i just ignore it
