Take your medication exactly as it was prescribed to you. If you're still in pain, phone the dentist tomorrow who will tell you if you can have an extra one. It's never safe to just take an extra tablet.

Take it as your doctor prescribed it. If he said to take one or two every 4-6 hours then you could take another one now. If he said to take one every 4-6 hours then wait at least 3 1/2 hours between pills. If you notice tomorrow that the medicine still isn't helping your pain then call the dentist back and see if he will give you something else or tell you it's okay to take it more often.

I'm a Nurse

Yes I had a tooth ache about a month ago and I had left-over hydrocodone from getting my wisdom teeth taken out and I took two of them. Sometimes one isn't enough, two doesn't hurt you. It just made me REALLY out of it haha. Kinda high actually. But the pain subsided.

Yes it is completely fine, as long as you tried one, waited 45 minutes and it didn't help. Don't listen to these other people I am pretty sure my degree is a little more how do you say, relevant to your problem.
