Are they bruises (not spelled bruces, btw) or rashes? If you were itchy, then it's most likely a rash. I fail to see how itchiness cause bruising unless you scratched it extremely hard, causing trauma to capillaries/blood vessels.

Unless, however, you have Erythema Nodosum. It's an inflammatory disorder, but they usually start with lesions (hot, red, painful bumps). The lesions could have caused the itchiness, but it would have hurt quite a bit. However, the lesions do fade away to purplish/brown patches after a few weeks. So I'm guessing that could be your condition. Ask your doctor for an opinion on this. Now that I think about, this actually makes sense. Because symptoms usually last around 6 weeks. So ask your doctor. And if you don't know how to explain it, then maybe you can print this answer out and show it to him.

For now, keep on using the anti-itch cream. Try using a anti-biotic cream too.

Do you have chicken poxs
your itching so its causing bruises
or did you just have chicken pox

Go back and ask doctor to do blood test ( CBC ).
