Question: I cannot sleep im 13. please help me fall asleepp now!?
I can't go to the doctor! I just gotta last till tuesday! What to do tonight. Tommorow. And saturday? ( I will be at a camp fri-sun. ) PLEASE HELP ME!

Are you at camp these days & have you talked to your parents/adult in charge about what to do? They might be able to suggest something specific to what’s causing your insomnia. Another option, with their help is to call an overnight pharmacy. They might have a better idea what a 13yr old can take OTC for sleep- there are things you can take, but with the ok of your parents & with the guidance of a pharmacist.



Don't eat within 3 hours of going to bed, as you're body needs to basically "turn on" to start digestion. Also, lit screens from computers and televisions will stimulate your mind and keep you awake, partly because of the light from them and partly from the focus you end up putting into them.

Also, when lying in bed, if you're mind is racing and you find yourself thinking too much, just talk or sing to yourself in slow motion. That'll help your mind calm down. You can also try various meditation and relaxation techniques before bed.



How much caffeine have you had today? How long have you been up? Are you babbling or thinking really fast? Can you not stop moving? Do you know that you SHOULD be tired, but feel wide awake? Because those are really important questions. Without that, there's not too much advice I can give you.

Anyway, as a psyc major we studied sleep cycle a lot. If you can make yourself lie quietly for half hour intervals in the dark with your eyes closed, it should help with some of the symptoms of sleep deprivation. As important as it is to get a full night's sleep, that's the next best thing. However, I'm more concerned with the fact that you don't think you're going to be able to sleep for five days. Unless you've been downing energy drinks non-stop or are really anxious about something, that's not normal.



Get comfortable in bed. Now try to breath like you think you breath when you are asleep. Just focus on that and nothing else. You should be fast asleep in no time! It always works for me! Good luck!



Read a book, try not to play on the computer seeing as the light is much brighter than a TV and resembles daylight.



READ!!! a really good book! works for me every time if you like kinda weird yet interesting and sorta creep read: Wintergirls or Frozen Fire



Relax. Drink some warm milk or chamomile tea. Take a hot bath. All of those help me when I can't sleep.



drink lots and lots of milk before you sleep. that usually does the trick...



music (soft) warm milk, a dark room, and GET OFF THE COMPUTER
