The pain never came back.
I'm not worried about it as I've only had it a few times with a gap of a couple of years between but was just curious if anyone else gets this? I asked a couple of people and they hadn't.

Yes, its because I kept it in one position (bent) for way too long. Straightening it out really hurt, but only for a couple of minutes.
It is good that you do not wear heels.
Make sure your shoes are not worn out and slanting on one side. That creates uneven balance and puts pressure on your hips.
Otherwise, it could be Vitamin C and Calcium deficiency.
Start taking 1 tablet Vit-C 500mg + 1 capsule Vit-E 400mg daily for 7 days along with breakfast.
After 7 days start taking Calcium Tablets for 10 days.
Your problems will just disappear.
