Question:

Is it procedure that during a hernia operation the patient under anesthetic would normally be strapped down?

Answers:

During any surgery, the patient is strapped down. This is for safety reasons. Even though you are under anesthesia, you can still get aggitated and try to flail around and fight somewhat. If you have any concerns about being strapped down, speak to the nurses or Dr. before going into surgery.
