Reducing blood pressure with a twist?!
Question:
Reducing blood pressure with a twist?
I take medication for high blood pressure and it is having little effect. Whilst accidentally cutting myself shaving i pondered the comaparisons...
Being from a mechanical background, if a hydraulic hose has too much pressure, standard practice is to "crack" a fitting and bleed some oil to reduce pressure.
My question from a medical viewpoint...
Can i reduce blood pressure by cracking a blood vessel/vein etc in the same way i can reduce hydraulic oil pressure? If not, why not?
Answers:
NO, but having extremely high blood pressure can actually cause blood vessels to rupture on their own and cause a stroke. There are many types of BP meds offered and just because one or two aren't working doesn't mean there aren't other options. You must speak with your prescribing doctor for other medication choices.
