Possible broken fingers?!

Question: Possible broken fingers?
My sister got mad and slammed my fingers in the door. I pulled my hand away, but my pointer and middle fingers (along with the tip of my ring finger) got stuck in the door. The tips are swollen and red. It hurts to move them. There was a bit of numbness in the first five minutes, but now the pain is pretty bad. I didn't hear any cracks when the door shut on my fingers (mostly because Kate was screaming). Could I have broken the distal phalanx on the three fingers? It was a wooden door, she weighs 200lbs and she was putting all her weight on the door. What can I do about it?

You should put some ice on them to cause the swelling and pain to go down. I would recommend taking some form of pain relief. If your pain still is really bothering you maybe the emergency room or making a doctors appointment could determine if they are really broken or not. I have broken my pinky finger before and the doctors just took and x-ray and then taped my pinky to my ring finger. That will ensure that when your finger is healing it will stay straight.
Let me know if this helps (:

Very possibly broken. It is very unusual to hear any sound with a broken bone unless it is a larger bone like an arm or leg.
