Answers:

Hey there! You aren't having it taken out then?! Because if you are then obviously you'll never get it again... ;-)

Appendicitis. Well, your appendix is located just inside and above of your RIGHT hip bone. Normally it is very small, but if you have appendicitis it can swell and actually be big enough to feel.

The pain experienced can vary a lot, depending on the person and depending on the degree of inflammation (swelling). Quite often the sharpest pain is actually experienced on the OPPOSITE side to where the appendix actually is. Many people are not aware that this can happen, and so sometimes appendicitis is not diagnosed (people - and also doctors! - think, well, the pain is on the left and the appendix is on the right, so it can't be appendicitis! WRONG! It still could be). And still others feel more of a general abdominal pain, experienced over the whole abdominal region. However, generally the pain WILL be severe, wherever it is experienced. If it is very bad, you will not be able to walk properly and you will be confined to your bed because of the pain. You might be feverish, or you might not.
You need medical attention in any case. Appendicitis can lead to peritonitis of the appendix. This is where an organ actually ruptures (tears/pops/explodes!) and is extremely dangerous - people die from this, which is why obviously you need to get a doctor if you have severe abdominal pain. My own appendix was on the point of rupture when it was removed.

Sometimes, even with a confirmed diagnosis of appendicitis you won't actually have it taken out. My brother has had appendicitis three times - twice he was even hospitalised and nearly had the surgery, and he has his appendix intact to this day...

Hope you're OK.
