Recovery time for a ruptured spleen?!

Question:

Recovery time for a ruptured spleen?

How long does the person have to spend in hospital?

Additional Details

And it's not 5 months ^o)

I know it's a minimum of a week, but like the usual time :|

Answers:

I'm assuming that you have had your spleen removed when it ruptured. In which case your stay in hospital for about a week.

The recovery time itself is much longer and there are some important health issues if you don't have a spleen. Your spleen helps you fight infection.

This link should be a leaflet containing information from the department of health about living without a spleen.

7-10 days in hospital assuming that there are no other injuries that occured at the same time. Full recovery in 6 weeks.
