Stop thinking about it, and DO IT! Instead of wondering if you can, just say to yourself "i am a non smoker", and be done with it.

Quit now and follow one simple rule, DO NOT SMOKE! It's as simple as that.

Please quit, please.
good luck.

Ex smoker, been 5 years since i decided to quit.

My wife and i are attempting to stop smoking.....again. Never give up on it,just try. I used champix last time and they worked really well for me. You can book in with the smoking cessation clinic either at your doctors or through nhs.org on the net.Its all in confidence and that means that they wont tell any body about it.We are both trying patches this time with the inhalator. Its **** and its hard work. I have been smoking for at least 27 years and so has the miss's.Not that it has been proved or disproved but you could always look at the e-cigs, you will need to look for info about them though. We decided not to use them as they are too much like the real thing and as such could tip you back into smoking.
Also worth remembering that the health risks are VERY real. I have hardening of the arteries and high cholesterol, every comment on the web ,in books etc. all say prolonged smoking is biggest cause.

No doubt, that quit smoking could be a really hard task, but with the right help you can achieve your goal. This is a site with more info about how stop smoking, benefits of quitting, tips to stop, negatives effects of smoking on children, etc, u should check it.

Hi, I know what your going through. I've given up for 6 weeks now. And my secret has been nicotine patches.

I'd never used them before, but they do work! And seriously, you will notice more when your craving is actually a habit rather than a need.
Because the nicotine from the patch is within your body at a time when you would normally light-up, you don't feel the need to. But you notice the habit. (ie after dinner etc).
The new 'Quit Kit' from the NHS has info for a free weeks supply of patches.

You will do it, I know you will. Don't get to the age of 24 and then give up, because it will be harder, and even more damage will have been done to your body.

Have you tried the patch, they do help a great deal to get you over the first week or two. Drink cold water every time you get a bad craving. Try and get your friends to try with you,if you all save the money you spend on cigarettes just think of the great party you could have on the proceeds.

Just stop. Tell your friends your going strait edge and they will think it is cool. Listen to Hardcore Punk and Straitedge bands. If you are a christian than pray. Making strait edge part of your image really helps. I know!

I have the most failsafe method ever, kid. I was also smoking for three years and then they told me I had cancer. That was four years ago. Now going through it for SIXTH time. I gave up the day after diagnosis. Hasn't done me any good.

your parents have known all along because of the smell; they've been waiting for you to work it out. Now you have, ask them for help ; they can take you to the doctor for patches etc. Or go yourself.

good luck, you can do it.
