Is it normal for a bruise to itch?
I fell down the stairs 3 weeks ago and badly bruised my leg, it was black and blue from the toes all the way up to my knee,and very swollen. I had it checked out at A&E, but they didn't x-ray it as i was walking around on it, all be it with a limp!! anyway, most of the bruising and swelling has gone now,expect for an area on my shin which is still swollen,and bruised, and it itches like mad!! Its doing my head in. Is this normal? I never had a bruise that itched before.

Yes it is completely normal. When you bruise yourself this is actually slight internal bleeding. For some time after, the nerve cells near the site of the bruise will fire periodically thus creating the itch.
