so i have an ear infection...?!

Last night i was perfectly fine but i woke up at about 3am and i had a severe ear pain. After about an hour i fell back to sleep. When i woke up the pain was pretty much gone. The only thing is that i can hear our if it but im pretty sure its only because its swollen. The night before i went to bed, i put conditioner in my hair and bent over in the sink to rinse it out. The only thing that could possily be wrong is that i got water in my ear. Is there any good over the counter medicines or things i could do in order to make it better?
