Whats wrong w/ my thumbs? Dislocated?!

Question:

Whats wrong w/ my thumbs? Dislocated?

My thumbs, or more like, the meaty part at the base of my thumbs are well....screwed up.

they look just fine, but if anything bumps my thumbs inward then they get a searing pain at the joint, where the thumb connects to the hand.

It's not a hard bump either, if it's unexpected, like hitting my thumb as I glide my hand across the bed, then it's pain city.

Any ideas? I play lots of football, so I assume thats where I got it.

it's been here for quite a while

Thanks

Answers:

Sounds neurological, you know your nerves, a lot of athletes get this injury it's called Ulnar Collateral Ligament Injury or "SKIERS' THUMB". The pain you feel could be your ulnar nerve. You might be able to have it treated without surgery. Go see a physician and he can fix it for you and keep your thumbs out of peoples face.
