What does facial twitching signify?!

Question: What does facial twitching signify?
For a few years now, I have had eye twitching in both eyes on and off, as well as cheek and other facial twitches. If I raise the sides of my mouth up, it starts to spasm. It will also do it if i scrunch my nose up (sort of like a bunny). A more subtle twitch, which I have recently noticed, is in my jaw. If I bring my teeth close together, but not fully clenched, I can feel the spasm. I asked my neurologist, who I see for migraines, and he said it is just a begnin tick. Could it be something else, especially with all the other symptoms?

I don't think so, but a second opinion from a G P couldn't hurt. Twitches and tics are problems of the autonomic nervous system known as an autonomic neuropathy - the cause of most common health problems. Certainly your doctor knows that as it's his area of expertise., but he isn't linking it to a holistic solution.

Your doctor took no action because he likely wasn't taught in school how to holistically treat neuropathies. Things that aren't taught in med school are often considered "alternative" treatments. But most conventional treatments start out as "alternative" treatments until they become more widely accepted. With the introduction of organic foods and products, those alternative treatments (natural) are becoming more widely used.

Recently it was found that children with ADD over-came their symptoms on an organic diet. ADD and other mental health problems are problems of the nervous system. Organic food calms over-active neurons that trigger a brain chemistry problem. Like-wise, your tics are caused by over-active neurons sending too many signals causing your muscles to twitch. It may be a direct or indirect problem. I had many facial twitches before starting an organic diet. They were increasing in frequency.

I assume you've been checked out by the neurologist so he should know you have no other problems. Thus it makes sense that it's safe for you to do treatment at home. The treatment is a whole food organic diet (produce), whole organic milk (only), organic butter, pickling salt (contains no non-organic flowing agents), organic eggs, organic meats, Aleve non-gel caps, unscented laundry detergents, no fabric softener, spring water, no processed foods, no scented products in the home.

You can see from the details of the treatment why doctors aren't taught this in school. It's complex and most people probably wouldn't want to do it anyway! For more info on chemical neutrality read online about chemical sensitivity syndrome aka MCS. You might want to first start out by simply switching laundry detergents to an unscented and see if that helps you. That's the easiest.. That may be all you need to calm your nervous system neurons. Good luck to you!!
