Our hands, wrists, feet and ankles have the most complicated bonestructures of our entire body. Breaking any of those might cause some long term effects. When you break a bone, your body fixes this with some sort of "cement" if you like. However, in those complicated joints such as hands, feet, ankles,... this cement might limit the movement of other parts of the joint. Therefor limiting its possibilities. For example, some people who broke their hand will never again be able to make a fist. This might be the case with your ankle. It's being forced into a certain position, but the joint itself isn't able to stretch that far. Therefor your knees have to bend in order to wear the heels.

I believe there's not very much you can do about this, but if you're really determined it might be an idea to talk to your doctor about going to a physiotherapist. Maybe with a lot of practice and determination you can still get back into those heels!
