Sharp pain on the inside of my shin..?!
Question: Sharp pain on the inside of my shin..?
I've been running the treadmill for about 2 weeks now, wearing running shoes, and I've started to get a sharp pain on the inside of my leg between my shin and calf muscle. Shin splints? How an I prevent this from happening? How can I heal faster? And good stretches?? Please help!!!

The best way to relieve shin splints is to stretch your calves. Stand facing a wall, and prop one foot against the wall. Heel on the floor, toe a couple of inches up the side of the wall (as far as is comfortable.) Hold for 8-10 seconds and switch feet. Repeat as necessary. It also helps to lean your upper body into the wall while doing the stretch.
