What is an acute care facility and a long term care facility?!

Question:

What is an acute care facility and a long term care facility?

Looking to do a LPN to RN program once I finish the LPN program? I have to work so many hours in these type of facilitys. Could you give me some specific examples of these type of places, and also define them. Thanks in advance.

Answers:

An acute care facility is a hospital or urgent care....one that provides care for a condition that is a problem right now (acute)

A long term care facility is a nursing home or rehab facility that addresss a problem that will either take longer to address or will not be cured. (chronic problem)
