Should I pop my blister?!

Question: Should I pop my blister?
I have a blister on my thumb from swinging my clubs at the driving range yesterday and now it's making my thumb feel a little numb and tingly. I didn't have this sensation till I work up a few hours ago and I'm not too sure what to do. I was thinking about popping it but I read online that a lot of people don't recommend doing so.

Anyone out there have had the same experience? If so, what did you do?

This was debated for years and there is still disagreement even among doctors. On balance it is felt better to leave a sealed blister in place as this reduces the chances of it becoming infected. It will slough off on its own eventually.

GP for more years than I care to remember

If you want to just make sure you use a very clean needle and use alcohol to keep everything clean including the skin and cover it with a band aid do keep the skin clean and protected

*the key is keeping everything clean*

You really shouldn't pop your blister.

Yes you should
