My sides hurt when I cough?!

My left side hurts. It's round about where the kidneys are, it hurts when do some other things as well, like laughing.

My pee is a dark colour as well I'm thinking it might have something to do with dehydration as I was watching a TV programme which said something about dehydration causing tiredness. Also I just looked up a few other signs of dehydration, which included head rushes and raising body temperature.

Last night I had some sort of fever, my abdomen was at a higher temperature than normal, it caused the same discomfort as having a fever, I would presume that I had a fever, but my hands and feet are extremely cold.

My parents think it's just a cold, but I'm aware that I don't drink enough. I'm not sure whether I'm being paranoid or there's actually something going on. I'm in extreme discomfort, as my head hurts. A lot.
