Is it normal to grow just one inch in a year?!

Question:

Is it normal to grow just one inch in a year?

From age 11 to 12 i grew only one inch, even though the previous year i grew about 2.5 inches or so, and the year after i turned 12 i grew another 2 inches. I was just wondering if growth patterns like this were normal- like is it normal to grow a steady 2 inches per year, then all of the sudden drop down to just one inch per year. I'm really confused so any help would really be apreciated. (I'm worried that maybe i didnt eat enough or something becuase i also did not gain any weight for a couple of years and i was really skinny)

Answers:

Growing 1 inch is SO normal! You will probably get a growth spurt later! It is ok to have only grown one inch. Trust me I have a friend and she's only 4'1" and i'm 5'2". She's now 4'8" and it's only been 9 months!
