I have to say that the definitive management of haemorroids is surgical. Medical managements only tend to give temporary relief of symptoms. Get a second opinion from a surgeon.

GP for more years than I care to remember

My boyfriend had those. He had surgery to remove them. It will be a year in May. A success. Yours may not be as serious since his was interal and external. He is finally lifting weights, riding motorcycle comfortably, go for a run and just be 'normal.' Drinking alcohol doesn't help either.

Good luck to you I have them and the flares really hurt. You may try to eat more fiber and I noticed every time I have milk I get a flare up. but drink plenty of fluids and try some fiber supplements.

life experience.

It all depends on how quick the inflamation goes and this will reduce your piles, what you need to do is take some fish oil like cod in a pill form and you will find that passing stools will be easier and carry on using the medication in 4 -6 weeks you should see a reduction.

Also your diet needs to change so to make it easier for you to pass stools without causing so much tearing. I would say 1 weetabix type seral every day will help and this will provide the roughage and plenty of water will also help.

Long term you can have surgery but this is best avoided if you can but if you are prone to piles then they may come back at some stage.
