I've been extremely light-headed and dizzy all day. What gives?!

Question:

I've been extremely light-headed and dizzy all day. What gives?

The room feels like it's spinning, my head feels funny and I've been a little shaky. I've felt like I was on the verge of passing out, although I've never passed out before. I know it's not a blood sugar issue (ate a normal breakfast and lunch) nor do I have problems with blood pressure. I haven't had any alcohol to drink, nor did I drink any alcohol last night. I also haven't had any caffeine/energy drinks or anything sugary.

I have no idea what this could be.

Answers:

You probably have vertigo, which often causes the symptoms you describe.

Also, if you have allergies or sinus problems (dripping nose or stuffed up nose) you may have a pressure build up in your eustacian tubes which will also cause your symptoms.

My best advice would be to lay down for a while and see how you feel. DO NOT drive with these symptoms. DO NOT work with any machinery. Also, don't try climbing anything that could cause injury if you do pass out.

More than likely it is just vertigo and it will get better. Be careful in anything you do for the next few hours or the rest of the day. If it doesn't improve in 24 to 48-hours, call your doctor and just get checked. You could be starting an inner ear infection that you don't want to get worse.

Good luck. ;>)
