Can you take maxalt if you are on Topomax?!

Question:

Can you take maxalt if you are on Topomax?

Answers:

The internet says it's okay. If your Topomax or Maxalt suggest to not mix medications, then don't. If the bottles don't say anything about eachother, but you are still concerned, consult your family practitioner or doctor who prescribed you the medication.

Maxalt is an "upper"... And I know you can take "downers" with Topomax, but I'm not sure about "uppers"...

If you are experiencing side effects or anything has changed to cause you to wonder, I advise calling your doctor A.S.A.P.!

If you are simply curious, it never hurt anyone to make a phone call! Better safe than sorry!

ps- who prescribed you both medications?? if you were prescribed both medications by one physician, that physician should tell you if it's okay. i really think you should talk to your doctor before you take them both at the same time..

topomax is a seizure medication and it effects people with seizures by making their whole body go limp so they dont seize up, it effects your migraines because it's nervous system drug. if you have nervous system migraines, that's why it helps you.

i don't know how maxalt effects your migraines, it sounds like it is for the other type of migraines [that effects your blood system], maybe your doctor is trying to figure out which type of migraines you are getting.. if he is, mixing medications may not be a good idea!!!! consult your doctor for best advice!
