I hurt my muscle on the back of my thigh...?!

Question:

I hurt my muscle on the back of my thigh...?

Ok, about 5 years ago I was doing a split, I slipped and pulled a muscle in the back of my thigh. I even heard it tear and felt it. It hurt really bad and I was limping for several days. It actually didn't heal till about sometime last year, because I was able to stretch without pain

So this morning, I was stretching and tried to split, very slowly this time. There was no pain in stretching, but my muscle pulled again out of nowhere and I really heard a popping kind of tearing noise in the same spot I hurt years ago. Also I felt something really hot in the area. I panicked and got severe nausea for a few minutes

I'm not limping now and the only pain I feel is when I bend my knee or strech. It's deep in the back of my thigh somewhere

I just want to know why there wasn't so much pain this time, why I heard a noise and felt hotness in the area. Should I call a doctor? It's frustrating I thought I healed already, I've been in shape for years, I'm only 18. Please help, thanks

After I asked this question, I was in pain all day when there was none before lol. But I really am walking with almost no pain now. What can I do to make sure I heal properly and quicker so this doesn't happen again? Any specific stretches? Anything I shouldn't do?

The popping noise really scared me, I think that's why I got nausea. I pictured blood gushing inside of me beccause it felt like that for a few seconds.

Answers:

You probably pulled the same muscle, but to a lesser extent, because you split slower, so it may not have recieved the same amount of damage as before. The warmth could be one of 2 things; Minor pain followed by numbness or minor internal bleeding. It may not even be either. Consult your doctor to be extra safe.

Good idea to rub oil
