Pain in upper back when I take a deep breath?!

Question: Pain in upper back when I take a deep breath?
When ever I take a deep breath I get a sore feeling where my ribs are in my back. I am a dancer so at first I thought it was just sore from stretching because I have had a similar pain before. But it has been sore like this since december :( Its not a horrible pain, its just very annoying. I brought it up at my last doctors appointment (in december) and my doc said it was just a minor muscle strain and it should go away with in a week. I have a doctors appointment coming up to get it checked out, but I was just wondering if anyone knows what it could be or if anyone has had similar symptoms.
Thanks :)
Oh I also have low iron... if that is some how related, and I had low hormones in my Thyroid in my last blood test. I have no idea if the pain is related to that at all but you never know!

Answers:

You have muscles getting pinched in your back to cause that pain. When you breath the ribs expand out into them to cause the pain to happen. Freeing up your back muscles will get this problem to go away for you and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
