Is it true that if you get a peice of metal in you that you need to get a tetinious shot? My daughter got a little peice of metal in her foot we thought it was just a splinter it was that size...my moms saying we need to take her in?? is that true shes only 4?

at age 4 your daughter should be current on her vaccinations for tetanus. that is, if you've been bringing her to the dr. for her normal checkups and getting whatever shots the dr. recommends. if you're not sure, call her dr. and ask about her shot record. they'll have all the info right there. the vaccine is called DTaP or DT and most kids get 5 doses between birth and age 6. other than that, just keep the site clean and she should be fine.
