No matter how much I stretch I cannot straighten my legs.?!

Question:

No matter how much I stretch I cannot straighten my legs.?

My legs are so tight that I cannot stretch them out no matter how long I stretch. For example: When I lie on my back and try to straighten my leg in the air I can only keep it straight for about a 45 degree angle and after that my leg automatically bends and it is painful to try to straighten it. Any ideas why my legs are like this or what might help?

Answers:

Have you seen a doctor?
What do you do for a living? Without knowing why you are so tight, this is my advice--
Warm up before you stretch-do you have access to a hot tub? Even stretch in the hot tub! Also a muscle rub, but don't over do it, follow directions.
If still no help, please See a doctor--you may need physical therapy.
Also get several massages. Deep tissue massage--and hot stone massage would probably help also. Start with professional massage, it's expensive, make sure they are licensed and trained. They learn to diagnose and help heal basic problems. If one doesn't help, go to someone else. It may hurt, but will do a world of good. My husband had an injury and the doctor said six weeks before he could run again, but repeated massages by a pro had it healed in three weeks! But then learn to do it for yourself or your partner and you do massages for each other. Lots of books/videos on massage, check at your library.
Live well, love deep and do good.
